I sure hope you're right as I have just recently directed friends there to get Garcia goodies.

In order to avoid many needless deaths could you kindly give us a heads up if LMA plans on disappearing for a few days maintainance? ; )

As long as it's planned, we will give you some notice. I don't ever anticipate a planned offline for the whole collection lasting a few days though. Stuff like hardware changes and such tend to finalize with a thrown switch, where 1 second you are directed to the old hardware and the next you are sent to the new hardware. If it doesn't work, the switch gets thrown back. Most websites of this size don't take whole collections offline to perform a copy/paste. :)

Make sense?

The other request I saw a few weeks ago that I don't think got responded to at the time is notification before there are show removals. Show removals mainly only happen for 2 reasons:

- artist request
- replacement with a better copy

And for both of these, giving the users a few days warning defeats the purpose.

An artist requests removal to reduce availability - if they want it taken down, they don't want you to know 3 days before it happens so you can put it on your list of "things to do now".

If an inferior copy is getting replaced, we'd prefer you had the newer/better one that just got posted so there's no sense in telling you the bad one is about to disappear.

I don't know, but I just have a feeling that the move to petabox will cause some LMA disruptions. So when you hear more solid talk about that, start readying the "desert island" shows in your CD rack. ;)
